Code of Conduct

Players are more important than characters.
Safety is more important than fantasy.
Tomorrow is more important than today.

The code of conduct is a social contract that all participants and staff agree to when joining this event and participating in its physical and digital spaces. Its basis lies in common sense and respect, for ourselves and for others, and a culture of pro-active care for everyone’s comfort and safety. Harassment or intolerance of any kind is not tolerated.

The goal is always for a player to enjoy their character, to embody their goals and emotions, and to pursue their story during the game. The nature of roleplaying requires us to trust one another to keep the drama and confrontation in-character, while respecting boundaries and seeking consent out of character. There will be workshops to help build trust and establish systems of seeking and providing approval and consent. No scene, prop, or storyline is more important than the human beings around us.

Anti Harassment Policy

Harassment and intolerance have no place at this larp or any of its associated spaces. All participants have the right to enjoy an event that welcomes them regardless of gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, physical ability, appearance, or size, race, ethnicity, or religion. Harrassing behavior in physical or digital spaces may include derogatory or discriminatory comments, deliberate intimidation, harassing photography, recording, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

We also allow that we all carry unexamined biases and privileges, and may cause others discomfort unintentionally. Depending on the degree of the incident, a participant may be warned, and participants who are asked to stop a behavior are expected to do so immediately, and to make a good faith effort to correct. If the behavior repeats, or if the severity of the original incident necessitates it, a participant may be expelled from the event with no refund at the discretion of event staff.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of staff immediately. Staff will have designated roles in online spaces, and will be introduced and will have visual indicators on their clothing in physical spaces. Staff will also help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts within reason, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event

Additionally, staff and participants are expected to refrain from the following:
